Welcome to the new website  for the Owen County Historical & Genealogical Society. For those who are familiar with our old site-- all of the content is still here, just perhaps in a different order- so please check around.

Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Society, we had to change servers to continue the website.

My name is Debbie Jennings and I am the new coordinator for this website.Most of you will know me from my Sweet Owen website. I hope you will like the changes that have been made here. I have tried to make it as user friendly as possible. If you have any questions regarding the navigation of THIS SITE, please contact me here.

I would like to take this opportunity to state a few things concerning the Owen County Historical & Genealogical Society- and in addition how it relates to me.

The Society is located in Spencer, Owen County, Indiana.

The Society DOES NOT have a physical building, but it is an organization focused on the history of the county. (There have been many questions on this)

Although the Society is an organization in itself- it also includes the Owen County Archives- this DOES have a physical location. The information regarding this can be found in the links at the left.

Lastly, I am NOT the Society. As mentioned, the Society is located in Indiana and I live in Tennessee. I cannot look anything up there for you. Although I interact greatly with Owen County genealogy in other capacities, I am only a member of the Society and the maintainer of this website.
