Although I have tried to find more on this trial, I have found nothing. Below is the obituary listed for John Radcliffe, it is the only place that makes any mention of any outcome. Age 61 years, 9 months, and 22 days. "Our town was thrown into considerable excitement Sunday morning by the news that John Ratecliff (sic), a wealthy farmer and an old and much respected citizen of Green Township, had been murdered and his body thrown into the hog pen. He had been badly eaten and mutilated by the hogs. Lynn Reynolds, who lives in the neighborhood, was arrested and placed in jail for the crime." [Lynden "Lynn" Reynolds was later acquitted and released; the murder was never solved.] First wife died in 1868; married second wife in 1869. ONE LATER ITEM FOUND IN ANOTHER PAPER-- Mark Dillinger, the witness in the John Radcliff murder case, was taken to the Insane Hospital last Saturday. On the way, he told the sheriff that Lynn Runnels murdered Radcliff. This item was dated May 12, 1879
