Cooked Apples
These were ALWAYS on Grandma's table for any dinner. I counted on them.
Mary (Jones) Lockhart served them cold and in an old mason jar as she had stored them, I serve them warm from the stove. Either way tastes great.

About 6-8 medium apples (peeled, cored,
and sliced) Sugar Cinnamon Water Place apples in medium saucepan and add
about 2 inches of water. Over the top add "about"
1/4-1/2 cup sugar depending on your own tastes. Sprinkle cinnamon
over the top using just enough to flavor and compliment sugar and
not over power. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to
medium and simmer until apples have turned soft and somewhat
brown, stir occassionally.
