Another "burial ground" that has been ignored for years is the Newell Burial Ground in Wayne Township where Col. Samuel Newell, his wife, and two grand-daughters are buried -- perhaps others. The Veteran of the Rev. War stone is the only one standing with about three other stones laying around. I have offered to pay the cost of building a fence around the stones to keep cattle from grazing among them. The owner has agreed and Deanna collins has made considerable effort to move things along. After a fence is build, we may move forward with other restoration steps.
It seems to me that the boundaries of the Newell Cemetery need to be established before a fence is built. Is it possible to hire some knowledgeable person to do the same in the Newell Cemetery?
