BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

VS

JAMES GALLETELY--BOND

We the undersigned citizens of Owen county, State of Indiana, feeling a deep interest in its future prosperity- and desirous to see the cause of science and Literature prosper and prevail within its borders. Having been informed that the Board of Seminary Trustees of said county have made an order authorizing the letting out of the building of a Brick Seminary to be built in Spencer the present season--and in as much as we are well satisfied that the funds belonging to said seminary are entirely insufficient for the completion of a house of suitable size and convenience for the purpose aforesaid-

Therefore to enable said Trustees to build and complete said house do hereby agree and bind ourselves to pay to Isaac Westfall, the Tresurer of the Board of Seminary Trustees, the several sums annexed our names in cash. One half of said amount to be paid against the first day of January next and the remaining other half against the first day of January thereafter--Provided however, the said Board of Trustees should not commence said building the present season, then this obligation to be null and void--otherwise to be and remain binding on us to all intents and purposes. In testimony whereof we set our hands, with the amount subscribed annexed thereto.
