THE BROWN MURDER Indianapolis Sentinel; March 21, 1879 An Indianapolis detective is in correspondence with the relatives of Wash Brown, living in Franklin, who was murdered in Morgan County a short time since, stating that if sufficient reward is given for the apprehension of the murderers he can produce the parties. The county of Morgan offers $500 and the relatives of the murdered man offer $800, making $1300, for the arrest and conviction of the guilty person or persons. It will be recollected that several persons were arrested on suspicions, among them some of the children of the deceased, but were discharged for want of testimony to convict.
