NEW DEVELOPEMENTS IN BROWN MURDER CASE- CRIME COMMITTED BY DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW Indianapolis Sentinel; May 12, 1879 Martinsville, May 12-- Mrs. Lou Parrot, of Indianapolis and Joseph Greer, of this county have been arrested for the murder of Wash Brown and the attempted murder of Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Parrot is a daughter of Mr. Brown and Greer is a son-in-law. The affidavit charging them with the crime was made by Willard Brown, Mrs. Parrot's brother. At the time the deed was committed the coroner's jury returned a verdict that Wash Brown came to his death by violence at the hands of Mrs. Parrott and Willard Brown, and they were arrested, but were discharged in a day or two for want of sufficient evidence on which to indict them. Now Willard says that his sister and his brother-in-law tried to get him to help murder his parents, and that he refused to do so, but that he saw them commit the deed. Judge Robinson has ordered the grand jury convened and the further investigation of the case before the justice has been postponed until tomorrow morning. In all probability the witnesses will be taken before the grand jury at once and no further investigation be had before the justice. Submitted by Debbie Jennings
