LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN THE BROWN MURDER CASE Indianapolis Sentinel; May 14, 1879 Yesterday when the indictment was returned against Mrs. Parrot, Joe Greer and Willard Brown for the murder of Wash Brown, on the 29th day of January, 1879, it was discovered that one of the jurors was not a freeholder. This necessitated the finding of a new indictment today, William Brown now says the Lyman Greer helped do the killing, but no one believes him. Mr. Greer is a good man, and the statement that he had anything to do with the murder has materially weakened Willard Brown's testimony. Joe Greer is a son of Captain John E. Greer. Captain Greer represented this county in the Legislature just after the war. The parties are all in jail. Submitted by Debbie Jennings
