OLD FASHIONED BUTTERMILK DUMPLINGS

These were prepared by her grandmother:
Clara May SCOTT SKINNER
1 C. Buttermilk
1 level tsp soda
2 tsps baking powder
2 heaping Tbsp shortening
about 2 Cups Flour........enough flour to make stiff
dough.........Mix as for pie crust dough. Roll - roll this
as pie dough and cut in small squares 1in wide & 2in
long. Have chicken broth boiling. Drop in a few
at a time, let boil 3 mins. then drop in more. Do Not
Stir.......they will float to top when done, do not overcook.
