Yes, Dick Carter is my father, but he is also one of my strongest genealogy partners. Most people don't always get along with their parents, but I am fortunate that not only do I get along, I am able to share a hobby; a true family tradition hobby. As I child, I think my parents took me to every graveyard and libraries east of Indiana; and like most children, I had no interest. But years after raising my own family, the desire to know where I came from started. My father had put his research aside years previous due to family illness and restarted it when I became interested. It is really great to be able to work with someone who is so closely related to your lineage, when most often although your various contacts are normally related, they are "distantly" related. I am truly blessed that I have someone to compare notes with, bounce ideas off of, and who can make me see logic when sometimes I am too ready to accept certain data. Thanks Dad for instilling in me the research bug, although sometimes it appears to be a sickness...
