Tailors/Dressmakers/Clothing Dealers

A highly valued business in the community. For the most part, pioneer women did indeed make the family's clothing. However, for the special occassion the dressmaker was used. Of course, some ladies with the financial means ONLY wore what the dressmaker made. The difference between the tailor and the dressmaker was the the tailor worked in men's clothing and the dressmaker in women's.
