Owen County (IN) Leader, March 31, 1915, p. 1.
Miss Margaret Ellis, 23 years old, a daughter of Will Ellis, died Thursday of paralysis at the home of her grandfather, H. D. "Den" Ellis at Monticello, Ind., and the body, accompanied by H. D. Ellis and daughter, Miss Marion, was brought here Saturday for interment. Will Ellis, the father, was at Harrodsburg, Ill., and came direct to Spencer, arriving Saturday morning. The deceased suffered a paralytic stroke in Oklahoma City Okla., in December last and was cared for in a hospital. In the last week she failed rapidly and expressed a wish to be taken to her grandfather's home, and the nurse took her there. They arrived at Monticello on Tuesday of last week, and her death followed a few days later. Her mother died about 11 years ago. Brief funeral services conducted by Rev. Gray of the Presbyterian Church were held at the graveside Saturday afternoon. The grandfather and his daughter left immediately after the interment for the home of his cousin, Charles R. Ellis, in Clay Township, to pay the family a visit, returning home Sunday.
