Early Whistlestops

Within these pages you will discover hidden places, that at one time were what could be called "going concerns" or what the founders felt would be towns one day. For the most part, these places today are no more then a country store, a farmhouse, and sometimes no more then a wide place in the road. But at one time, these were towns where our ancestors lived their lives and built their dreams, laughed & cried and were buried. In most, you will find what our forefathers felt were the cornerstones for any community--the church, school, store/post office and of course "the burying ground".

Of a Sunday, you can drive through the areas and get a "feel" for what your forefathers must have felt in raising their families there. If you try really hard, you can "almost" see them in the fields working... Many of these little villages I have visited and I will attempted to give you an idea of what is left of them now.
