Grocers

This page updated June 7, 2012

Grocers, although fairly self explanatory were men who sold food products in their stores as opposed to the men who ran Dry Goods stores. The dry goods stores dealt more in items such as materials, farm equipment, clothing, etc. Bear in mind that the men who claimed their occupations as "merchants" without any description could well have been grocers or dry goods merchants. So you may wish to check there also. The listing below shows only those men who specified themselves as GROCERS.
