John (Johannes) Hilsabeck was the 5th child, 2nd son, of Revolutionary War soldier Jacob Hilsabeck (of NC). He and wife Catharina Fulk migrated from Stokes Co, NC to Owen Co, IN with their 11 children between 1828 and 1830.
