Jordan Village
Morgan township
Jordan Village was quite a good sized town during the middle of the 19th century.
Current day photos of the town were submitted to our site courtesy of Bruce Davis and can be viewed here.

Not much is written about Jordan Village, but it is known that one Reuben Jordan came to the township in the middle 1820's. It can maybe be assumed that this is where the name came from.
I rely again on Carl Lockhart and his commentary on the current situation of the town as well as remembrances.
"Jordan Village must have been a
fairly large town in the early to middle 20th
century, but I only remember one general store there. Now there
is little
more than a well kept church and a few houses. It had a railroad
station
also on the Monon spur line called the pumpkin vine which went
down to the
coal mines."
