Succumbs to Disease at Daughter's Home in Indianapolis

James M Kennedy, one of the pioneers of Indiana, died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. E. M. Rife, 1024 East Market street, Saturday morning of
Bright's disease. The funeral and burial will be at Cloverdale today, the
funeral party leaving Indianapolis at 7 o'clock this morning. Mr. Kennedy
was born near Connersville Ind., July 11, 1835. He came to Indianapolis with
his father and brothers when a lad and remained a few weeks, then moved to
Putnam County, where he had lived since. He married Sarah Neese at Jordan
Village, Ind., in 1860. Six children surviving are Mrs. Mary E. Rife, 1024
East Market street; John Kennedy, Cloverdale, Ind., Mrs. George Akers,
Reelsville, Ind.; David Kennedy, Quincy, Ind.; Silas Kennedy, Cloverdale,
Ind.; and Mrs. Eliza Harrison, 333 Kansas street.
