BRUCE KING, 78, DIES SUDDENLY; FUNERAL TUESDAY

James Bruce king, 78 years old, died very suddenly Saturday evening at his home on the Braysville road. On Oct. 9th Mr and Mrs. King celebrated their golden wedding, and Mr. King was then apparently as well as usual. He was a native of Owen County, being born in Jackson township, Aug. 17, 1877, a son of the late James and Frances (Hall) King. Mr. King served as trustee of his township from 1915 to 1919. Only a few years ago he retired from farming and he and Mrs. King purchased a small home on the Braysville road. Following death the body was taken to the West & Son Funeral Home. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Gertrude (Stevens) King; three sons, Lee of Spencer; Dillon of Rockville; and Richard, of Long Island, N.Y. He also leaves one daughter, Mrs. Eudora Meek of Indianapolis, and five grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, T.H. King of Tacoma, Wash.Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the West & Son Funeral Home, Rev. Victor L. Raphael, in charge, and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
