As we are working with about 3 different counties within our website and countless
numbers of townships, I thought it helpful to set down some order to our website
for everyone to better find particular items in particular areas.
County Divisions in These Areas
CENSUS RECORDS LAND RECORDS MILITARY RECORDS SURNAME REGISTRIES DEATH CERTIFICATES CEMETERIES CEMETERY SURNAME INDEXES CHURCH HISTORIES SCHOOL RECORDS BIOS WILLS & ABSTRACTS COURT RECORDS OCCUPATIONS FRATERNAL ORDERS MAPS FUNERAL HOMES HISTORY NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS GHOST TOWNS PIONEER DATABASE CHURCH & BIBLE RECORDS |
The following Categories are databases that contain records for all three counties.
In these instances please search by surname. Births
Deaths Marriages Obituaries Legends Family Websites Lookup Volunteers Libraries Most Wanted Photo Album Genealogy Reports Queries
Photo Album--This is divided into 6 sections: 1)Family Photos. 2)Landmarks-this
to cover items that are mainly a thing, not a person. 3) Tombstones--photos of
graves or cemeteries. 4)School Photos--this to cover school buildings, classes,
individual school photos, etc. 5) Military--this to cover all photos of a military
nature, although some of these also may appear in family photos or the military
section. 6) Unknown Persons--all photos submitted that are unknown who they are
For the Morgan County Researcher--With the exception of the above listed areas,
ALL items pertaining to Morgan County I have tried to keep within this section.
For the Putnam County Researcher--With the exception of the above listed areas,
ALL items pertaining to Putnam County I have tried to keep within this section.
"What's New"--This will list items recently added
Any New Categories/Sections--I try to give these top billing on our main page
and highlight them with a "new" flashy thing. After about a week, these "new"
sections will meld into their appropriate sections
section. There are 4 town divisions; Gosport, Paragon, Quincy and Spencer for those wishing
to only research in those main towns; I will try to keep these updated.
Difference between Church Records and Church Histories--Records are just that:
records of baptisms, attendance, etc. Histories are of the church formations themselves.
Family Pages--For a listing of any family related websites pertaining to our
counties.
Any ideas for new sections/categories is most welcome. I can only guess at what
may be of interest to anyone. Your input is of interest to me. Please let me know
and a section will be created for it.
