Mount Gilead Chapel Cemetery
Located in Section 21, Township 13 North, Range 1 East
From Mooresville go west 2.5 miles on State Road 42 to Cooney Road. Turn left, go 2.2
miles to "T" at Bunker Hill Road. Go left 0.1 mile to Romine Road. Turn right and go 0.5 mile to
Gold Creek Road. Turn right and go 0.5 mile. Cemetery is in woods behind house. This small
historic cemetery is located at the site of a Methodist Protestant church which was built about 1850
and disappeared in the early 1900s. It is located on private property. Permission must be obtained
from the owner in order to visit the cemetery.
