CHAS. JEFFERSON PHIPPS

Chas. Jefferson Phippps, was born in Owen County, Indiana March 19th, 1879; departed this life Saturday, November 14, at the age of 52 years, 7 months and 24 days. His is survived by his mother, Mrs. Margaret Phipps, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Aderson of Dayton Ohio; two nieces, Bernice Anderson, also of Dayon and Edna Baker at home. He was preceded in death by his father, and two sisters, Emma and Mamie. Charley, as he was commonly known, was an excellent man, always loyal to home and mother who will miss him most. He was an honest and industrious man and a friend to all he met and ever with a smile. The funeral was held Monday monrning at 10:30 at the Baptist Church in Freedom, Rev. H. C. Odell in charge. Burial in the Hicks Cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. FLORENCE BIDDLE PHIPPS
Owen County Leader; August 2, 1956
Funeral Services were conducted for Mrs. Florence Biddle Phipps Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o' clock in the Methodist Church at Patricksburg with Rev. Bertha Fagley officiating. Interment was in the Lutheran Church. Mrs. Phipps, the wife of Carey Phipps of Rantoul, Illinois, passed away in a nursing home at Urbana, Illinois, Friday evening, July 27. Born in Owen County, Mrs. Phipps was one of thirteen children of George and Eliza Biddle. The only one suviving is James Biddle.
Besides the husband, Carey, Mrs Phipps is survived by three sons, one daughter and nine grandchildren.

MRS. THOS. PHIPPS, DEAD
Owen County Leader; June 16, 1932
Mrs. Margaret Phipps, about 76 years old, widow of Thomas Phipps, died Thursday at her home near Freedom following a long illness. Her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Anderson, of Dayton Ohio, had been with her several weeks and Mr. Anderson joined her at the home tens days ago.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the Freedom Baptist Church and Interment was made in the Hicks Cemetery.
