1. Daniel PRICE, SR. was born 02 June 1779 in New Jersey. He was most likely the son of Isaac PRICE and Ester (LNU). He married Salome FAIRCHILD about 1801 probably in Morris County, New Jersey. Salome was born 02 July 1783 in New Jersey (probably in Morris County). She was the daughter of Caleb FAIRCHILD (1743-1807) and Phebe GARD (1744 - 1817). Between 1802 and 1805, Daniel and Salome moved from New Jersey to Monongalia, Virginia. Between 1814 (or 1816) and 1819, the family moved to Jackson Township, Monroe County, Ohio. Most likely they lived near the southern border of Monroe County, Ohio. It was in Monroe County that the PRICE family became connected to the Stephens BARNS family of Barnes Run. Daniel and Salome remained in Ohio until sometime before 1840. By 1840 they were living in Washington Township, Owen County, Indiana. They may have moved to Indiana with their son Daniel PRICE, Jr. who was reported to have arrived in Owen County early in 1840. By 1850, both Daniel and Salome were living with Daniel PRICE, Jr. and his family. Daniel and Salome were early members of the Bethel Methodist Episcopal Church which was originally located four miles southwest of Spencer. Salome died 20 April 1857 in Owen County, Indiana. She was buried at Barnes Cemetery, Franklin Township, Owen County, Indiana. After Salomes death, Daniel Sr. continued living with his son, Daniel PRICE, Jr., through the 1860s until his death, 25 March 1868 in Owen County, Indiana. Daniel was buried at Barnes Cemetery, Franklin Township, Owen County, Indiana.
