Saloon Operators & Owners

This page updated October 4, 2005

As with the distillers, saloons were an integral portion of life in the early years. Women, of course, were never in a saloon, but men hung out in them regularly and "gossiped". The saloon owner could depend on good business flow whether things were going good or bad as people were in there doing business in either scenario. Saloons were also viewed as great tenants for rented buildings as they always paid their bill. The bartenders are listed in their own section.
