SUPPOSED MURDER OF AN INDIANA FARMER Cincinnati Commerical Tribune January 15, 1879 Indianapolis, January 14 - About two weeks ago, Owen Satterwhite, of Morgantown, Morgan County, brother of the representative from that county, went to Cincinnati with a train load of hogs. He returned to this city in company with an employee and was seen last Tuesday night with him at an oyster saloon on West Washington Street (Indpls), since which time he has not been seen. The employee returned to his home in Franklin and displayed considerable money, reporting that the last he had seen of Satterwhite was in Cincinnati and that he was then disputing with a man to whom he had sold his hogs. Satterwhite had about two thousand dollars with him, and it is suspected he was murdered by his employee. The latter has been arrested, and will be brought to this city in the morning for trial. Submitted by Debbie Jennings (although this murder occurred in Indianapolis, I included it as he was a Morgan County man and a researcher may benefit from it.)
