State of Indiana vs. John B. Buskirk--Neglect as Ferryman

On the first day of July 1840, licensed ferry keeper in Gosport, did unlawfully fail, neglect andrefuse to set over at his said ferry. Delana R. Eckles but then and for the space of one hour willfully, neglectfully and unnecessarily hindered, prevented and delayed. (This was bad judgment of Buskirk's part as Eckles was an attorney and later a judge.

State of Indiana vs. Jesse Harden, Hiram Thomas, William Glover, Littleberry Vest, John Taylorand Abraham Cummings--Riot

On the first day of October 1840 with force of arms, riotously and routously assembled and gathered together,at the town of Spencer, did make a great noise, riot and disturbance by hooping, hollowing, cursing, swearing, and quarreling with and amongone another and offering to fight with and among one another and by there and then assaulting and striking at one another at the unusual hour ofthe night towit ten o'clock, riot, tumult and disturbance for the space of one hour.
