Shoe & Boot Makers
Shoe and Boot makers were also reffered to as Cordwainers; along with the Tin Makers, they were also men
who traveled from house to house in business. Often times these men were highly welcomed in the home especially in the
remote areas as they could give the families the news from other areas making for an informative visit. During the days
that the shoemaker did travel to the homes, he remained in one home until all the shoes were made.
