The Woolen Mill was located in the Greencastle area of Putnam County. In one respect it made for a place of employment for many area residents. However, the product they turned out would also displace some individual craftsman from their art. It is no doubt that the Woolen Mill could produce a carpet or weaved product that was much more refined then the person in their home. The fabric made there also was viewed as superior. This is what began happening everywhere in the early 1900's. Machinery replacing man.
