Men's fraternal organizations were most popular
and most of the prominent men of a community belonged to them.
However, the women were most often kept in the home caring for the children and other home duties. Entertainment outside the home was most often
an unheard of thing for women. Church was usually the only time women socialized. Although the women's club when they were created were not as popular as the men's clubs; they did exist. In many instances, this was the only diversion most women had from the daily chores of life.
So this page is dedicated to the women who were pioneers in this area.
If you have any ancestors who were members of an organization, please submit them.
