SUICIDE in OWEN COUNTY

From the Spencer Journal we learn that on 18th inst., David Stansbury, an unmarried man about 30 years of age, committed suicide by hanging himself in an old out-house near his mother's residence, about eight miles south of Spencer. The cause of the act is unknown. He had been in poor health for several months which may have produced an aberration of mind, and wilst in that state committed the deed.

Spencer, Ind. Dec.15 – The dead body of Frank Johnson was found in the yard of W.L. Cline near here, Friday., a bullet hole in his head and a revolver by his side. A note left in his trunk indicated his intention to commit suicide, but gave no reason therefor and known is known. Johnson was 19 years old and belonged to one of the best families. He was religiously inclined and is thought this had unbalanced his mind.

SPENCER, Ind. Nov 19 -- Mrs. Ambrose Ooley, 46 years old, killed herself today at her home in Clay Township with a shotgun. Placing the muzzle of the gun under her chin she pulled the trigger with her toe. Illness is said to have unbalanced her mind. She is survived by her husband and two children.

Mrs. Renos Jarvis committed suicide one day last week at her home in Terre Haute by drinking lysol. She locked herself in the bathroom and took the fatal dose. Renos Jarvis is a son of Grant Jarvis, a former Owen countian. He is a son of the late John Jarvis of Vandalia.
