From newspaper clipping dated Monday, August 7, 1933
The annual reunion of the McCULLOUGH family was held at the grove of the Eel River Baptist Church grounds in Putnam County, IN, yesterday and it was estimated that nearly 500 people were present at the activities during the day. This is believed to be the largest turnout yet recorded at a meeting of the Putnam and Clay County family.
A splendid program was the feature of the day and Oscar HANEY, an attorney of Hammond was the principal speaker. The Lawson and Son kitten ball team went down and taught the game to the picnickers and engagee their picked aggregation in an exhibition contest. Horseshoe pitching was also on the day's card.
People from far away responded to the call that had been made for relatives of the family and a repressentative group was on hand. J. Riley McCULLOUGH was re-elected president of the organization and Edith SMITH of Poland was again chosen as secretary-treasurer.
